Bradley H. Bofford, CLU®, ChFC®, CFP® is a Managing Director and Founding Partner of Financial Principles, LLC, a Hightower wealth management practice.
Brad specializes in comprehensive financial planning, retirement planning and wealth management. He advises on complex financial challenges for successful business owners, executives, retirees, and affluent families in the Greater New York City metropolitan area focusing on their financial independence.
With over 30 years’ experience, Brad began his career in financial planning in 1993 and co-founded Financial Principles, LLC in 1998 with Michael Flower. The Fairfield, NJ based financial services practice also maintains a satellite office in Midtown Manhattan. Financial Principles began its partnership with Hightower in 2018. We are proud to be recognized as the #2 in Barron’s Top 100 RIA Firms in 2021, 2022 and 2023.
For 29 consecutive years, Brad has been recognized as a Qualifying Life Member by the prestigious Million Dollar Round Table, a global, independent association of more than 62,000 of the world's life insurance and financial services professionals from more than 500 companies in 69 countries. To date, Brad has achieved 24 “Court of the Table” and 17 “Top of the Table” qualifications. Brad is also a multiple recipient of NJ Monthly’s Five Star Wealth Manager Award. He has served as a resource for various industry publications, including Dow Jones, BusinessWeek, Investment News, Financial Planning Magazine, Research Magazine, and New Jersey Business News. In 2023, Brad was recognized as 16 of 200 Nationally Recognized “Advisors to Watch” by AdvisorHub.
Brad earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in International Relations from the University of Delaware in 1993. He is currently a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® professional and holds the Chartered Financial Consultant® (ChFC®) and Chartered Life Underwriter® (CLU®) designations. Brad holds the Series 6, 7, 63 and 65 licenses, as well as Life & Health insurance licenses. He previously served as an Adjunct Professor for the CFP® Program at Fairleigh Dickinson University.
Brad is active in several community and charitable organizations. He currently serves on the Wealth Management Advisory Committee for the University of Delaware Lerner Business School, after completing terms on the Executive Board for the University of Delaware Alumni Association. Brad is an active donor to the Delaware Diamonds Society and the UD Carillon Circle. Previously he served on various committees of the UDAA and was President of the Northern New Jersey Alumni Club from 1995 thru 2013. He also is an active volunteer and donor for the Bergen County Horse Rescue in Mahwah, New Jersey. Additionally, Brad participates in various other charities, such as Bike MS, Bike NY, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and the MDRT Foundation. Brad and his family reside in Bergen County, NJ. Outside of work, he thoroughly enjoys attending concerts and sporting events, as well as traveling, skiing and spending time with his two daughters and their Goldendoodle, Buddy.
