Steve Gelber is a Wealth Advisor at Financial Principles, LLC, a Hightower wealth management team. With nearly 20 years of experience in the financial services industry, he brings a deep background in financial planning and investment management to the team.
Steve’s background and attention to detail help him to assist high net worth families, small business owners, and fiduciaries of Trusts and non-profits, who have unique and complex needs. Steve finds fulfillment in tackling complex matters for clients and has an innate ability to think outside of the box in finding simplified solutions to fit even the most complicated situations for clients.
Steve has a passion for spreading financial literacy. He is a regular contributor to financial planning columns for New Jersey Business Magazine, curates the client communication and education efforts for the Financial Principles team, and finds great fulfillment working with “next generation” clients to ensure that young professionals are on the right path towards the pursuit of their future financial independence.
It is Steve’s goal as a trusted advisor to provide an enjoyable client experience while simplifying matters for his clients and providing any education needed to ensure that each client understands their overall financial plan and the strategies used along their financial journey.
Steve graduated, with honors, with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration degree in Finance from Boston University. He earned the Accredited Investment Fiduciary® (AIF®) designation from the Center for Fiduciary Studies, and currently holds the Series 7 and 66 licenses, as well as Life and Health Insurance licenses.
Outside of the office, Steve is an active member of several charitable organizations. Steve is a former board member (but still good friend of) the Rotary and is the current National Foundation chairman for the Hackensack Elks. Through these organizations, he is able to organize events to support children, veterans, and those in need in his local community. He also is actively involved with organizing children’s literacy programs with Hackensack’s Johnson Public Library for the youth of the community including having handmade and installed more than thirty little libraries in the Hackensack community.
Steve resides in Hackensack, NJ with his wife Tara, their rescue dogs, Buster and Charlie (Charlotte), and their cat, Henry. In his spare time, you can find Steve in the kitchen, anywhere by the water (his happy place) with a good book, or crafting something in his woodshop.
